Episode 62 “Ring The Kell” or “The B Team” of your SW Book Report

1400 by 1400 iTunes coverWayne and I actually review a novel!  We review X-Wing: Wraith Squadron  by Aaron Allston.  We get back to our roots.  There is no guest today.  We just break down a novel and chase quite a few rabbits.

We also geek out for the first time in a while.

Enjoy and remember you can always reach us on twitter @swbookreport and @chamberlainw or on a Facebook page links to the right of this page.  We would love to hear your questions, and we will try to answer them in our next episode.

Thanks for listening and exploring the galaxy with us one page at a time.

In this book, Wedge Antillies wants to create a new X-Wing squadron that specializes not in just piloting skills, but in more commando type skills from machinery to bombs to snipers and so on.  He wants to create a squadron that is as dangerous on the ground than in the air.  Let me just say that this was a brilliant move by the powers that be in the Star Wars creative team.  We saw quickly in the second book of the X-Wing series X-Wing: Wedge’s Gamble that there are just as many ground missions as flying missions in the life of an X-Wing squadron.  Wedge would have noticed this in his time with this new Rogue Squadron, and the fact that this is recognized by Wedge.  Then, he wanted to create a team better equipped than his Rogues to handle these ground missions was completely logical, and I applaud the logical next step that Allston takes in continuing this saga.
