“Star Wars is a Marvel” or “Did the License Plate Say Fresh?”

These are my thoughts on Marvel Star Wars issues 1 through 3

People keep telling me that there is more to the expanded universe than just the novels, and that I should check out the comics because they are great too.  Well after twenty three more novels, I decided to give the comics a chance.  After all what makes the movies and cartoons of Star Wars great are the images, and what makes the novels great is how you can dive into the mind and heart of the character, so comics have the chance to put those two aspects together to be something truly special.  So as Luke tells Ben in Omen, when you face a daunting amount of material, start at the beginning.  I thought this was good advice when facing the daunting amount of the comics, so I decided to begin with the Marvel Star Wars series that were published in 1977 alongside the movie.
