This is a posting of our live round table discussion of the sale of Lucas Ltd. to Disney.  Joining Wayne and I in this discussion is publicist extraordinaire to the Star Wars star Ms. Consetta Parker from Parker Publicity, our good friend Jen for R2 in 22, and our pal and yours Steve Glosson from Geek Out Loud.

We all share where we heard when we heard the news of of the sale.  Our thoughts and excitement from the sale, and what we think will happen in the future with a focus on the EU in particular.

It is a fun live show loaded with our usual amounts of rabbits and shenanigans, but we had fun and that is the most important thing.

After Wayne, Steve, and I argue for a while, we bring on a much more agreeable guest in Mr. Greg Bear who is the author of numerous science fiction novels that have won multiple Hugo and Nebula awards.  He authored Rogue Planet in the Star Wars Universe, and in working on a Halo prequel trilogy.  He also consulted for NASA, which I just think is too cool.

In today’s Halloween Special, Wayne and I break down Death Troopers by Joe Schreiber.  We discuss the impressive character development in this novel, how this novel gave us the willys, and just what a fun read this novel was.  We also discuss whether or not this book ripped of a movie that takes place in Raccoon City.  Lastly, we have a nice argument over whether on not one famous character needed to be in this novel.

We also have a great chat/argument with Steve Glosson from http://www.geekoutpodcast.com/ and www.steveglosson.com and I am sure several other websites.  Steve comes on to explain Episode II to me after listening to our Episode 35 on Attack of the Clones.  It is a discussion that is, at times, insightful, off topic, brilliant, confused, a train wreck, funny, and much more…you just have to listen to it.

Our hope is that our passionate talk and discussion on each author will encourage you to check out their books, show you that all Star Wars novels and authors are not the same, and give you some reading to do outside of Star Wars.  We want to light a passion in you.

I am so fired up for today’s episode.  Big Honkin’ Steve from www.geekoutonline.com and www.geekoutpodcast.com is with us for the second part of our discussion on the unifying force…now, we are discussing the idea of the unifying force, not to be confused with the novel The Unifying Force although it is in that novel that Luke puts forth the idea of the unifying force.
