Fan Fic Face-Off 2012 Entry – Chaos – by Chris
Thin tendrils of fog licked at his feet, wrapping around and past them. Darth Caedus dropped to his knees, the rest of his words choked in his throat. His mouth flailed uselessly, and tears welled in his eyes. He tried to scream, but the air was silent around him. The bulkheads of the Biodisposal Pit seemed to fade out, first replaced with blurry images, and then with nothing. It wasn’t until he dropped his chin to his chest that he realized something was wrong.
A jagged slice ripped his chest open, starting at the right half of his ribcage and ending in a large hole where his heart should be. He carefully climbed to his feet and lifted his hands to the wound, allowing his fingers to quickly dart out and feel it. This was no illusion.
He closed his eyes, half expecting to grimace as the fingers met with an unworldly agony. But no explosion of pain blinded his mind. There was no reaction at all. His memory of the wound was fractured, and despite the event happening so recently, he simply could not recall who had inflicted his body with such brutality. Slowly, his fingers began to explore the wound deeper, tracing the death blow from start to finish.
Death blow?
“Recipe for Success” or “Curry Favor”
As noted many times on the show, Wayne and I love food…this is also noted on my waist line…I got to get back to doing Insanity. Anyway, we have had recipes sent to us from actress Catherine Taber and author Sean Williams, which I am finally getting around to sharing with you. I hope you like it spicy because Ms. Taber and Mr. Williams do.
I hope you have an adventure in your kitchen today.
Fan Fic Face-Off Entry 2012 – Peter Morrison – Thrawn’s Test
The Emperor’s Artwork
——————————————–
With the whine of decelerating repulsors and the hiss of escaping gas the Admiral’s Skiff Ascendant, settled on the landing platform. Mitth’ra’nuruodo savors the sensory overload that is the hustle and bustle of Imperial Center’s busy sky lanes and multitude of levels. Mitth’ra’nuruodo known to almost everyone by the name Thrawn wonders about his recall to Imperial Center from his expeditionary mission to Adumar. It is not the recall that is the surprise, after all you do not ignore a direct order from the Emperor, but the timing is rather curious. After receiving the Holocom transmission from the Emperor questioning Thrawn’ s actions his unwillingness to proceed with the planned reconnaissance-in-force, the Emperor demoted him to the rank of Admiral and removed him from command on the spot. The Emperor further ordered that Thrawn observe the battle but not intervene with the replacement force that was sent in his place.
To Thrawn, the defeat of Captain Glozen and the destruction of the Star Destroyer Rodomontade was the most predictable of the possible outcomes. Thrawn had tried to explain to Palpatine that too little was known about the Adumari people their technology and their weapons. That to send an Imperial Star Destroyer into that potential feverwasp’s nest was to great of a risk of Imperial resources. Much better to send in a smaller, more disposable vessel and allow Thrawn to assess the reaction of the Adumari defense forces to that intrusion. In the end Thrawn was pleased that he wasn’t on the receiving end of an ISB firing squad for his action, he took this curious leniency as a good sign, and was certainly thankful that Darth Vader had not been aboard the ship when he refused the order. To many a good officer had crumbled under the Dark Lord’s invisible judgment.
Episode 46 “Why So Sidious?” or “The King’s Gambit” of your Star Wars Book Report
In this episode, we break down the novel that we have waited years for. We devour Darth Plagueis by James Luceno. We give our thoughts on the man that trained the man took over the galaxy. We discuss what this novel means for the nature of the force, light and dark side, going forward in the EU. We differ on several aspects on this novel and what Luceno was trying to do and where we rank this novel overall. We tell you what we love and don’t love about this novel. We break down every aspect of this novel, and we hope you enjoy this debate.
We announce our Fantasy Baseball League and contest. After all the fun we had in football, we thought this was a no brainer…also, I have to redeem myself from my poor, poor performance in our football league.
I also share about my trip to the spa with my wife. It was my first time to visit a spa, and apparently my wife is much, much tougher than me.
All this and more, so come along and explore the galaxy with us one page at a time.

Episode 45 “This One Is For The Ladies” or “A Peachy Time With Catherine Taber” of your Star Wars Book Report
In today’s episode we turn our attention to the ladies as we interview two ladies. We chat to actress and voice of Padme, Ms. Catherine Taber, and we talk with one of our best tweetships Sarah Cole @oldzorah. Both were super fun to talk to. Sarah with her interesting Star Wars fandom, and Catherine was just a hoot. We talk everything from radio drama…cooking…what’s better Georgia or Canada and Ms. Taber settles that debate, and of course we eventually get around to talking some Star Wars.
Before our interviews, Wayne and I talk about love in Star Wars: Han and Leia, Luke and Mara, Anakin and Padme, Corran and Mirax, R2 and 3PO, and so on. We talk about how love has added a new dimension to the Clone Wars and Pre-Yavin era that the Post-Yavin era just doesn’t have. It will be fun because it’s two guys that know nothing about romance talking about romance. Join us for this utter nonsense.
Also, we update our Fan Fic Face-Off contest, and we still hope you will send your piece in, and read our other entries and share your opinion with us.
So come along and explore the galaxy and the heart with us, one page at a time.
Thanks for listening, Jesse
